The ILM72 assessment was created as a result of work carried out by British scientists from the University of Hull, with the support of AQR International and the Institute of Leadership and Management in the United Kingdom (ILM), based on the analysis and integration of the output of thousands of scientists from around the world researching leadership since the beginning of the 20th century. By combining and testing more than 200 leadership models, from which the top 50 cited were selected, it has been shown that most of the well-known and used leadership models are based on the same components that represent different aspects of the preferred leadership style. This is how the Integrated Leadership Model was created, i.e. the model that defines the essence of the leadership style. The model is supported by the
ILM72 psychometric tool, which assesses the individual as well as team leadership style.
The survey assesses leadership styles in 9 dimensions:
  • 3 global scales (core leadership competencies): determination to deliver, engagement with individuals, engagement with teams
  • 6 specific scales (leadership style): task- vs people-oriented, flexible vs dogmatic, decentralized vs centralized, managing by reward vs punishment, means vs end, structured vs organic
The assessment is conducted on the basis of the AQR International Certificate, which confirms the acquisition of knowledge and skills related to the Integrated Leadership Model and the ILM72 tool by the person conducting the assessment.
